Renault once considered the mini MPV market all their own, especially with the success of the Renault Scenic. Then along came the Vauxhall Zafira. The Zafira has even more room than before, although it still maintains its seven seat configuration. The extra space has resulted in extra passenger leg room - ideal for a larger family. As previously, the seating can be arranged in a number of different configurations in the space of a few minutes.

Four large glass panels make up the optional panorama roof, which provide the Vauxhall Zafira with a light, airy feel which extends right to the back of the vehicle. The glass is tinted to protect against dazzle, and extra storage is provided by a centre console which runs the length of the roof. Vauxhall have also upgraded their engines. The new 140bhp 1.8 litre ECOTEC engine has 14% more power and consumes 4% less fuel than the previous version. This engine is the most powerful in its class, and is more flexible and refined. Advanced technology has allowed Vauxhall to produce an engine which has exceptional pulling power and lively performance even at low speeds. This means that drivers have less need to change gear - making the whole driving experience more relaxed. The Vauxhall Zafira VXR can reach 0-60mph in 7 seconds flat, and even has a top speed of a 140 miles per hour. There is also the option of the 'Exclusiv' level of trim which is provided on some of the more top end models, and there are a number of variants providing different specification levels. Despite all of this; the Vauxhall Zafira is being sold about £350 less, model for model, than the previous version, and is almost a £1,000 less than an equivalent Renault Scenic.
