In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, a car insurance price comparison website has pointed out an extra benefit to proposing - being married can help couples save money on their car insurance.
The car insurance price comparison website Confused.com have worked out that married couples make an average saving of £34 from the top ten car insurance providers – enough to pay for red roses to be delivered in time for Valentine’s Day!
Head of car insurance at Confused.com, Will Thomas, says that on the whole car drivers could make considerable savings on car insurance premiums by getting married.
He went on to say "Weddings are expensive affairs; however, it is some consolation that a new married status could save drivers up to 16 per cent on their car insurance premiums."
Confused.com is part of the Admiral Insurance group and was the first car insurance price comparison website when it was launched in 2002.
